Do I need a battery backup?

Where does the water discharge?
A safe distance from the foundation, sloped away from the house, in compliance with local code. We never discharge into sewer or storm drains where prohibited.
Can you replace just the pump?
Yes, if the pit and discharge line are in good condition. A swap-out is usually a 1 to 2 hour job.
