Why do I need an egress window?

Massachusetts building code requires emergency egress from any sleeping room. If you are converting a basement to a bedroom, you need one.

What size egress is required?

Minimum 5.7 square feet of openable area, minimum 24 inches high, 20 inches wide, and sill height no more than 44 inches above the floor.

Do you handle the permit?

Yes. Foundation modifications require a permit and we pull it on your behalf.

How long does the install take?

Typically 2 to 3 days: saw-cut and dig day one, install window and well day two, backfill and finish day three.
