Brick Repair

Brick fails from the outside in: water gets behind failed mortar or a bad sealer, freezes, and pops the face off the brick (spalling). Left alone, a few bad bricks become a structural soft spot. We cut out the damaged units, rebuild the section with matched brick, and repoint so water stays out. On chimneys and parapets we also check the cause, usually a crown, cap, or flashing problem feeding water into the wall.
