A chimney takes more weather than any other masonry on the house, it's exposed on all sides, top to bottom. Most chimney problems start at the crown (the concrete cap up top) or the flashing, let water into the masonry, and show up as spalled brick, failed joints, and stains on the ceiling below. We repair from the crown down: seal or rebuild the crown, repoint or rebuild the stack, and address the water path.
